I Am Forgiven – Romans 5:12-19
- What does being forgiven mean?
- To lift and remove a heavy burden (sin).
- What is sin?
- Any lack of conformity to God’s laws or standards.
- iniquity – Open direct rebellion.
- transgression – going beyond the limits God set.
- trespass – carelessness in adhering to God’s standards.
- Any lack of conformity to God’s laws or standards.
- Why do we need to be forgiven?
- We were born into sin (sin nature). Psalm 51:5
- Where did sin come from?
- Through Adam and Eve’s sin against God’s standard.
- How do we get forgiven?
- Recognize we are sinners. Romans 3:10, 23
- Receive Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-10, 13
- Salvation is God’s unmerited favor toward us. Ephesians 2:8-9
- Ephesians 1:7 – how redemption came into the earth.
