Topic: I Am Meant to Know God
Main Scripture: 1 John 4:4-11, 19
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. We love Him because He first loved us.

I Am Meant to Know God
Proverbs 16:9
- The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps. (NKJV)
- A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them. (AMP)
LORD – Our personal and relational God
I Can Trust in God
- I Can Trust God for the unknown/unfamiliar
- Trust in God for the impossible/extraordinary
- Trust in God to sustain/keep the blessing
I Can Talk With God
- Sometimes our talking with God:
- involves us asking, requesting, or begging Him to do something for us (supplication)
- does not involve us asking for anything (worship)
- involves us talking to God on behalf of someone else (intercession)
I Can Listen to God
- God is speaking to His children
- When God is speaking, we must do more listening than speaking (active listening)
- God does not speak to be heard, but instead to be obeyed.
- Speaks speaks to us through:
- Written word (logos) – Bible
- God’s Will
- Spoken Word (rhema) – Preaching, Prophecy, Godly counsel, God’s utterance, Holy Spirit unction
- God’s Will and God’s Way
- Written word (logos) – Bible
I Can Walk With God
F – FOCUS on God’s authority over the situation and on who He is, and acknowledge Him.
A – ALWAYS keep your eyes on Jesus; No fear; No doubt
I – IN the test/trial, don’t give up; pray, worship, and get godly wisdom
T – TRACK record of God; His blessings, favor, and miracles – REMEMBER
H – HOW can God move? Any way He chooses; no limit; mustard seed and speak a word of faith
