Numbers 23:19 – “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do?

Belt of Truth
- The Word of God is truth and helps us to stand against the “father of lies” (John 8:44).
- The truth sets us free (John 8:32)
- Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6)
- We must know and believe, and live the Word of God to be protected.
Breastplate of Righteousness
- Christ righteousness is imputed upon us when we are saved (1 Cor. 1:30, 2 Cor. 5:21).
- It protects our heart so that our thoughts, emotions, and decisions reflect Jesus Christ.
Shoes of Peace
- Our feet must be protected by shoes to enable us to move quickly and widely to carry the gospel of peace (Romans 10:15).
- We walk in the peace of God and peace with God. (Romans 5:1, Philippians. 4:6-7)
Shield of Faith
- Faith in God’s promises (Hebrews 11:1).
- Believing and taking action on the fact that God is telling the truth.
- Truth is what God says about a matter.
- Faith is acting on the truth whether we like it, feel it, or agree with it.
Helmet of Salvation
- Protects our minds and enables us to “cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and brings into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” 2 Cor. 10:5
Sword of the Spirit
- Our weapon is not the Holy Spirit Himself but what He gives. It is the Word spoken by the Spirit as He brings alive words from the printed page.
- We need to know the Bible so that we will be able to meet the devil at his point of attack.
- To use the Word of God we need to:
- Hear
- Read
- Study
- Memorize
- Meditate
Prayer
- Without prayer the armor is useless.
- James 5:16 AMP – “…The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God – it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].”
