Matthew 28: -18-20 – And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Seek First the Kingdom of God: Part 2 – Matthew 6:25-33
- Seeking God’s Kingdom requires seeking God.
- Seeking God alleviates your fears and worries
- Seeking God brings you closer to him.
What is God’s Kingdom?
- God’s Kingdom is His Rule, His Reign and His Sovereignty.
- Rule – a person exercising governmental dominion.
- Reign – the period during which a sovereign rules.
- Sovereignty – supreme power or authority.
God’s Rule: Psalm 24
- When we are seeking God’s Kingdom we are seeking His authority over us.
- Ps 22:28 – For the kingdom is the Lord’s, And He rules over the nations.
God’s Reign: Psalm 145:13, 146:10 & Daniel 4:3
- God’s reign is unending. It extends for eternity.
- He is Elohenu Olam – Everlasting God – for this is God, our God forever and ever He will be our guide even to death.
God’s Sovereignty: Colossians 1:16
- God’s sovereignty is absolute. That means we should not waiver in our obedience to Him. Romans 4:16-22
- His sovereignty transcends all other loyalties. Matthew 10:34-38
- His authority over us should exist in every aspect of our lives, not just what we pick and choose. 1 Corinthians 10:31
