Since the end result of Christian education is to produce individuals who consistently believe and act like followers of Christ, our primary purpose for Christian education is to teach every person, who comes to our church, in all wisdom that we may present each individual mature in Christ Jesus (Colossians 1:28). Therefore, Christian education at Fresh Start Christian Church will operate using the following guiding principles: (1) We will be intentional about making disciples in obedience to the command of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19); (2) We will be intentional about teaching others to obey the commandments of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:20); (3) We will be intentional about equipping believers so that they are able to edify the local church body by serving in ministry (Ephesians 4:12); (4) We will be intentional about helping believers walk in unity regarding the Scriptures and helping individuals to know Christ in the power of His resurrection and in the fellowship of His sufferings (Ephesians 4:13; Philippians 3:10); and (5) We will be intentional about helping believers mature in Christ (Ephesians 4:13).
Fresh Start Christian Church affirms that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God. The Bible is the foundation from which all curricula will be developed and all lessons will be taught. The Bible will serve as the primary instrument utilized by the church to equip believers for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Fresh Start Christian Church recognizes its responsibility in evangelizing the sinner (Luke 10:2,14:23) and is, therefore, committed to providing sound, biblical teaching that will assist its members in carrying out the church’s mission of making disciples of all people (Matthew 28:19-20). Fresh Start Christian Church seeks to provide biblical instruction that is relevant to the life of the believer. To this end, the church will provide instruction on a wide range of topics aimed at restoring individuals to usefulness in the local church body, educating believers with the Word of God so that change [growing in the knowledge of God (2 Peter 3:18), bearing fruit (John 15:8), giving thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18)] takes place in the life of the learner, and designing training modules to equip our members for active service inside and outside the local church.
