New Testament words for love:
- eros – erotic and sexual love
- phileo – natural or tender affection, such as toward a friend or family member.
- agape – the special unconditional love of God; often called God-like love or biblical love; meaning to love the undeserving, despite disappointment and rejection
- Biblical love has God as its object, true motivator and source
