Main Scripture: Matthew 6:5-7
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Praying According to God’s Will
1 John 5:14-15 – Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
- Will (Hebrews: thelo) – to wish, to desire, to have, to want, to purpose (Greek distheka) covenant (God’s promises)

What is God’s Will?
- Logos – the written Word
- Rhema – the spoken Word (e.g. prophecy)
When prayer is based on what God said then we know He will do it.

Weekly Assignment:
Write out what you are asking God for and find scriptures that relate to those requests.
