Main Scripture: Matthew 6:5-7
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

An effectual, fervent prayer (James 5:16b) requires Relationship and Alignment with God’s Word.
The Model Prayer – Matthew 6:9-15
Jesus’ instruction regarding how to pray (Luke 11:1-4).
- We pray to God, in the Name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Hallowed be Your Name”
- God’s holiness more than any other attribute makes Him worthy of our worship. His holiness is absolute.

“Your kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven”
- Praying for God’s rule, reign, sovereignty and dominion to come to the earth as His rule, reign, sovereignty and dominion is already in Heaven (Sovereign-subject relationship).
- Praying for God’s ultimate program to be fulfilled – Christ’s return and reign.

- Praying that God’s rule reigns in our own lives FULLY.

- The way we use our time reflects God’s rule and reign in our lives.
