Main Scripture: Ephesians 5:15-21
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Topic: Fruit of the Spirit – Longsuffering
Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
- Long and patient endurance, forbearance, perseverance, steadfastness.
- It is a part of God’s character. God exhibits longsuffering toward this world.

- 2 Peter 3:1-15 (scoffers: insulters – Proverbs 29:8)
- Longsuffering (Greek) – makrothumia: patience in our relationships with others.
- Patience in dealing with difficult people
- Displaying calmness of spirit under severe provocation – Not losing your temper.

- Thessalonians 5:14
- Longsuffering (Greek) – hupomone: patience in the midst of difficult circumstances.
- remaining firm under tests and trials (no complaints)

- Hope – the confident expectation and anticipation of God’s work/promises.
