Main Scripture: Ephesians 5:15-21
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Topic: Fruit of the Spirit – Kindness and Goodness
Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness
- Greek: christotes and philanthropia
- treating people as you expect to be treated, love for mankind, benevolent attitude, friendliness, mildness
- God shows kindness toward people and this world

- Kindness is a characteristic of true love that is shown in what we say and what we do.

Fruit of the Spirit: Goodness
- Greek: agathosune
- open, honest, mature and generous behavior.
- God’s goodness appears in His giving and forgiving.
- Psalm 86:5, 100:5, 106:1, 107:1 and 118:1
- Romans 2:1-4: leads to repentance
- Generous behavior deals with doing nice things without recognition.
- Open, honest and mature behavior is a deliberate preference of right over wrong, resisting all moral evil choosing and following all moral good (even when others are not around).
